Dinosaurs responsible for short lifespans in humans: Study

A new study suggests dinosaurs may have shaped human ageing. Microbiologist João Pedro de Magalhães proposed the "longevity bottleneck hypothesis", saying early mammals evolved rapid reproduction under intense predator pressure during the age of dinosaurs. This survival strategy, he said, led to the loss of genes linked to long life and regeneration in modern mammals.
