H1N1 strain old, vaccines effective against it: ICMR as Delhi cases hit 1,777
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said the influenza A (H1N1) strain is not new and has been in circulation since 2025, as Delhi recorded 1,777 cases this year. ICMR added that current vaccines are "well matched" to fight the strain. "The cases are largely depicting mild symptoms and mortality rate remains low," Hindustan Times reported quoting an ICMR official.
