39% of UK children bypass age checks amid social media restrictions

A survey of 2,299 UK children aged 11 to 17 found that 39% have succeeded in bypassing age checks despite Online Safety Act amid social media curb for teenagers. Success rises with age, from 28% of 11 to 12-year-olds to 43% of older children, and is much higher among VPN users. About 63% bypassed checks by posing as someone older.
