India, MERCOSUR to adopt digital trade certificates

India and MERCOSUR, comprising Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, and Uruguay, have agreed to replace paper-based certificates of origin with digital ones under their trade agreement. The shift aims to reduce paperwork, speed up processing, and cut costs. The change takes effect after both sides complete internal procedures and formally notify each other.
