In Bangladesh’s February 12 elections, Jamaat-e-Islami scored major wins in border districts facing India, sweeping Satkhira and dominating Kushtia and Rangpur. The gains form a continuous arc near West Bengal and the Siliguri Corridor. Nationally, the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), led by Tarique Rahman, and its allies secured over 200 seats in the 350-member Jatiya Sangsad.
