Indian-origin Navanethem 'Navi' Pillay was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday. The Nobel Committee chose her from 287 candidates, including 208 individuals and 79 organisations. She was chosen for her efforts to promote peace and international law. Notably, US President Donald Trump had pitched for the award, saying, "No president has probably ever settled any wars...I settled eight wars."
