Real currency notes worth ₹7.40 cr swapped with fake currency at PNB in UP

A routine check of cash sent from a Punjab National Bank (PNB) currency chest in Uttar Pradesh's Saharanpur to the RBI found a shortage of ₹4.36 lakh. A subsequent audit uncovered fake currency worth around ₹7.40 crore. PNB management has suspended four people in connection with the matter. An FIR has been registered against three people.
