Jonathan Rinderknecht, accused of starting the Palisades Fire in Los Angeles that devastated one of the city's wealthiest neighbourhoods, repeatedly asked ChatGPT to generate images of a city engulfed in flames and floods. He cursed at chatbot when it told him the scenery he envisioned was "too violent". Rinderknecht's Google search history showed phrases such as "kill all the billionaires".
