The US Department of Defense could continue using Anthropic's AI tools beyond a six-month phase-out if deemed critical to national security, Reuters reported. An internal memo said exemptions could be authorised "in rare circumstances" for mission-critical activities. The Pentagon recently blacklisted Anthropic after a dispute over the terms of use of its technology.
