CJI Surya Kant has set aside the Supreme Court's 2023 'Handbook on Combating Gender Stereotypes', published under the initiative of then CJI DY Chandrachud, calling it "too Harvard-oriented". He called the handbook too technical to be of any real help to rape survivors or common citizens. The court directed National Judicial Academy, Bhopal, to frame new practical guidelines on it.
