Meta and WhatsApp have approached Supreme Court challenging the ₹213.14 crore penalty imposed by Competition Commission of India (CCI) over WhatsApp’s 2021 privacy policy. The plea also contests NCLAT’s decision, which had largely upheld the CCI order. The order charged the companies with "abuse of dominant position" and user data sharing with other Meta group entities without "opt out" option.
