US President-elect Donald Trump has said he wants to make Greenland a part of US. Strategically, Greenland would bring US closer to Europe, where it could monitor activities of its political rivals like Russia and China. Greenland also boasts mineral, oil and natural gas wealth, and it also falls on a shorter and more efficient shipping route through Arctic Sea.
