US Defence Department has sought over $200 billion from US Congress to fund ongoing war in Iran, according to the Washington Post. If approved, the US expenditure would surpass more than half of Iran's annual gross domestic product (GDP), which stood at $356.51 billion in 2025. The US spent over $11 billion in the first week of the war.
