Waive capital gains tax on new FPI investments to aid rupee: Pai

Infosys' former CFO Mohandas Pai urged PM Narendra Modi-led central government to waive capital gains taxes on new investments by all registered Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) for next 5 years to stabilise rupee's depreciating value. "After 5 years the benefit will continue till they sell stocks invested over last 5 years from now onwards. This will…increase [dollar] inflow," Pai added.
