China-based Indian urologist Dr Syed Ghouse successfully performed a robot-assisted ureteral reimplantation in Hyderabad, 3000 km away, using a console from Wuhan. Ghouse observed real-time, magnified high-definition 3D images transmitted from the operating room through a binocular-style viewer. Meanwhile, a local medical team stood by in the operating room to take over in case of emergencies.
