How has cheetah population increased in India since launch of Project Cheetah in 2022?

Cheetah population in India has increased significantly since the launch of Project Cheetah on September 17, 2022, when eight cheetahs were brought from Namibia. After that, 12 cheetahs came from South Africa on February 18, 2023, and nine from Botswana on February 28, 2026. Thereafter, 33 cubs were born in India, while 21 cheetahs died, taking the total to 53.
