Shakira acquitted in tax fraud case, Spain govt to reimburse $70 million

Spain's High Court acquitted Shakira of tax fraud, which accused her of not paying 14.5 million euros in income tax from 2012-2014, reported Reuters. The Treasury will reimburse Shakira with over 60 million euros ($70 million), including interest, overturning the 55 million euro fine imposed on her. Shakira's defence said the 8-year-old case reflects "lack of rigour in administrative practice".
