Congress has released the first list of its 42 candidates for upcoming Assam assembly elections. Assam Congress President Gaurav Gogoi will be contesting from Jorhat. Senior leader Ripun Bora has been fielded from Barchalla while Mira Borthakur Goswami has been fielded from Dispur. Elections to the 126-member Assam Legislative Assembly are expected to be held in March-April 2026.
