Lawyer shot dead in Bihar's Katihar, rivalry suspected

Guddu Ansari, a 45-year-old lawyer, was shot dead by motorcycle-borne assailants near Patel Chowk in Katihar, Bihar, on Monday around 10:30 am. He was rushed to the hospital but succumbed to his injuries, while police cited old rivalry as the motive. Ansari's colleagues protested at Katihar civil court demanding arrests. Ansari's family said he had received threats months earlier.
