Coal India Ltd (CIL) has secured a battery energy storage system (BESS) project worth ₹1,057.09 crore from Telangana Power Generation Corporation. The project includes development of a 750 MWh (187.5 MW for four hours) BESS plant at Choutuppal, CIL said in BSE filing. The project will be executed in 18 months after signing the Battery Energy Storage Purchase Agreement (BESPA).
