NHAI flags improper crash barriers, issues mandatory specifications

NHAI issued a circular flagging improper crash barriers on its highway projects. It has made Manual of Specifications and IRC:119-2015 standards mandatory for all future and pending projects. Specs include 3mm-thick rails, 5mm channel sections, E350-grade steel, and hot-dip galvanised posts with minimum zinc coating of 0.55kg per sq metre.
