Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi mocked Donald Trump's call for other nations to help secure the Strait of Hormuz. Calling US' security umbrella "full of holes", Abbas wrote, "The US is now begging others, even China, to help it make Hormuz safe." He added, "Iran calls on brotherly neighbours to expel foreign aggressors, especially as their only concern is Israel."
