Maha seeks UNESCO heritage recognition for Dahi Handi festival

Maharashtra's Cultural Affairs Minister Ashish Shelar said the state government will send Dahi Handi participants as part of efforts to seek UNESCO heritage recognition for the festival. The participants, who form tall human pyramids, will be sent to Spain to show the festival's traditional celebration. He appealed to participants to follow safety procedures, traffic rules and other precautions.
