Silver jewellery recorded the highest inflation at 159.67% in January 2026, according to data released as part of the new CPI series with base year 2024. Tomato followed at 64.80%, while coconut copra rose 47.18%. Gold, diamond and platinum jewellery saw 46.77% inflation and coconut oil increased 40.44%. These five items recorded the sharpest price rise at the all-India level.
