Contrary to popular belief, closing eyes doesn't help humans in listening better, a study has claimed. Participants listened to various sounds through headphones while background noise played at the same time. Their hearing sensitivity significantly improved while watching a video that matched what they were hearing, whereas closing the eyes made it harder to pick out faint sounds.
