Para shot putter Sharmila Dhankar won India’s second gold medal at Commonwealth Games (CWG) 2026. She created history by becoming India's first para athletics champion at CWG. The 40-year-old clinched the women’s shot put F57 title with a season-best throw of 9.81 metres. Ghana’s Zinabu Issah secured silver, while India's Shilpa Shyla claimed bronze medal in the event.
