CWG gold medallist Sharmila Dhankar revealed that her first husband once assaulted her from 11 pm to 3 am before throwing her out of the house. Married at 18, Sharmila said she was repeatedly abused over dowry demands and for giving birth to two daughters. She added that she never returned after that incident and later rebuilt her life again.
