Reached Moon, yet caste system exists: Bombay HC on manual scavenging

Bombay High Court said some people are forced into manual scavenging, which is "below human dignity", due to caste system. "We boast about reaching...other side of the Moon, yet...caste system is still followed in our country," it said. It directed government to identify everyone who died during manual scavenging within six months and pay ₹30 lakh to their dependents.
