Kashmir is facing a mutton shortage during the peak wedding season after traders alleged that Punjab imposed heavy levies on livestock transport vehicles, according to reports. The shortage has pushed up mutton prices and disrupted supplies across the valley. Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has urged his Punjab counterpart to ensure the smooth movement of livestock and resolve the issue.
