The Southern African Development Community on Thursday extended its troop deployment in Mozambique by another month to fight an insurgency linked to the Islamic State. The SADC countries sent troops to the region last year and its mandate was set to end this week. The extension was granted ahead of the mid-August SADC Summit to analyse the mission's progress.
