China and Brazil opposed fresh US President Donald Trump-imposed 12.5% tariffs linked to alleged inadequate bans on forced labour. China said it opposes all unilateral tariffs, adding that "trade wars serve no one's interests". Brazil called the measures arbitrary and unjustified, accusing US Trade Representative of exploiting a key human rights and workers' rights issue for trade purposes.
