Israel's Iron Beam laser defence system uses a 100-kilowatt laser to track and destroy short-range rockets with extreme precision. Unlike traditional interceptor missiles, the laser-based system relies on a continuous energy source. Recently used against Hezbollah's rocket fire, the system relies on high-energy lasers powered from the ground. It was declared operational in September 2025.
