Mirabai lifts 198 kg to win silver, ends India's 28-year Asian Games weightlifting medal wait

Mirabai Chanu won silver medal in the women's 49-kg event at Asian Games 2026 with a total lift of 198 kg, securing the first Asian Games medal of her career. The 32-year-old lifted 87 kg in snatch and 111 kg in clean and jerk. Notably, this is India's first medal in weightlifting at Asian Games in 28 years.
