Severe infections linked to risk of developing dementia: Study

A study by Finland's University of Helsinki suggested that people who experience severe infections are at higher risk of developing dementia. The study focused on 62,555 people aged 65 and older. Among the 29 dementia-related diseases studied, 65.5% were tied to an increased risk of UTI, while 34.5% were linked to bacterial infections of unspecified site.
