Assam Congress filed a police complaint against Suren Daimari, party's candidate for Udalguri, who resigned a day before polling began for the Assembly elections. Claiming that he was given ₹30 lakh for party expenditures, Congress accused him of cheating and dishonest misappropriation of movable property. The party further said that he tarnished their image by calling it a "gaddar party".
