The world's first ban on social media use for children under sixteen began in Australia. Hailing the move, PM Anthony Albanese said, "We're proud Australia's the first country in the world to make it happen…For kids, it means a safer start online." The crackdown will lead to deactivation of social media accounts of over one million users in the country.
