Mumbai Police on Monday issued an advisory regarding fake SMS related to unpaid electricity bills to cheat citizens. According to police, fraudsters posing as employees of electricity companies are approaching citizens via SMS, to get them to click on links that install malware or steal personal and banking details. Police asked citizens to avoid downloading software from unofficial sources.
