Supreme Court refuses to transfer Tirupati laddu trial out of Andhra

The Supreme Court dismissed a petition seeking transfer of the Tirupati laddu adulteration trial outside Andhra Pradesh. The bench of CJI Surya Kant said courts are immune from political statements, and shifting the trial would frustrate proceedings as witnesses are local. The petition was filed by accused Machindra Shantaram, citing a politically charged atmosphere and language barrier.
