Scientists discover cave with rare pearls in Vietnam's national park

Scientists have discovered rare cave pearls from Thang cave, also known as Victoria cave, beneath the limestone mountains of Vietnam's Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. The pearls form when mineral-rich water repeatedly coats tiny particles with layers of calcium carbonate. The formations offer scientists study long-term geological processes, groundwater movement and the limestone cave systems.
