Gold surged 2% in the international market on Wednesday, a day after the precious metal recorded its best day since 2008 as it climbed 5.9%. Spot gold rose to $5,044.74 per ounce (₹1.6 lakh per 10 gm) while spot silver rose by 2.1% to $86.92 an ounce (₹2.78 lakh per kg). This comes as US dollar slipped against major currencies.
