Gojek Co-Founder & ex-Indonesian minister Makarim jailed for 10 years in corruption case

Gojek Co-Founder and ex-Indonesian minister Nadiem Makarim has been sentenced to 10 years in jail by a court in a corruption case involving procurement of Google Chromebooks for schools. Prosecutors alleged Makarim favoured Google, a Gojek investor, causing $125 million in state losses. The court also told Makarim to pay nearly $45 million or serve five more years in jail.
