How much has India actually warmed the Earth?
India contributed about 0.05°C to global warming by 2024, according to a newly-released multi-gas modeling study by IIT Kharagpur and Cranfield University. The US contributed around 0.27°C and China 0.19°C. India’s contribution rose sharply after 1990, driven by fossil fuels, the study said. Energy has accounted for 61% of India's total warming contribution, while agriculture has contributed 28%.
