Over 48 lakh people affected in Bihar floods, water levels of rivers start to recede

Over 48.35 lakh people across 87 blocks of 15 districts are affected by floods in Bihar, even as waters started receding in most rivers, which were flowing above the danger mark. Among the worst-affected districts are Patna, Bhojpur, Saran, Vaishali, Bhagalpur, Begusarai, and Araria. Bihar has received 108.8 mm of rainfall so far in September, around 20% above normal.
