Bank unions call nationwide strike over 5-day work week, PLI Scheme

The United Forum of Bank Unions, representing major bank employee and officer unions, has announced nationwide strikes over demands for a five-day banking week and withdrawal of the government's revised performance-linked incentive scheme. Bank unions will strike on September 11 and from September 28-30. They have threatened an indefinite strike from October 26 if their demands remain unresolved.
