Sambhal DM Rajender Pensiya has said that coins, some dating back to 1200 AD and 1700 AD, were found after visiting Maharishi Dadhichi Ashram and Amarpati Kheda sites. One of the coins, presumably from 1740 AD, had Ram, Lakshmana and Janaki written on it, he revealed. "We'll also build a museum to preserve the things we have found," he added.

Constituent Assembly adopted Indian Constitution on November 26, 1949, but it came into effect on January 26, 1950. The day was chosen as the official enactment date to mark 'Purna Swaraj' declaration. Indian National Congress, at its 1929 Lahore session, passed a resolution, demanding 'Purna Swaraj' from British and asking people to observe January 26, 1930 as 'Purna Swaraj Day'.

US Supreme Court clears extradition of 26/11 accused Tahawwur Rana to India

The United States Supreme Court approved the extradition of the 26/11 Mumbai attack accused Tahawwur Rana to India, rejecting his plea against the move. The order came on January 21, a day after Donald Trump took oath as US President. Rana, who is currently inside Metropolitan Detention Center in LA, is known to be associated with Pakistani-American terrorist David Headley.
Fire breaks out in 2 parked vehicles near Mahakumbh Mela; 1 completely gutted

A fire erupted in two parked vehicles near the Mahakumbh Mela in Uttar Pradesh's Prayagraj on Saturday. According to a fire officer, the vehicles caught fire due to extreme heat, with one of them being completely burnt. "No one was harmed in the fire," the fire officer added. Several fire tenders were rushed to the spot to extinguish the flames.

Gold crosses ₹83,000 per 10 grams for first time

Gold prices extended the rally for eighth consecutive session and jumped ₹200 to breach the ₹83,000 per 10 grams mark for the first time in Delhi on Friday. Gold of 99.9% purity rose ₹200 to hit a fresh lifetime high of ₹83,100 per 10 grams, All India Sarafa Association said. Gold had closed at ₹82,900 per 10 grams on Thursday.

The ICC on Friday announced the Men's Test Team of the Year 2024. The team features three Indians: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jasprit Bumrah and Ravindra Jadeja. Australia skipper Pat Cummins has been named the captain of the side. Cummins is the only Australian in the team.
