Airlines urge govt to raise cap on domestic fares citing rising fuel prices

Airlines in India have urged the Civil Aviation Ministry to raise caps on domestic fares citing rising aviation turbine fuel (ATF) prices. ATF, one of the biggest components of air fares, has risen 26.4% or ₹19,508.25/kl in Delhi since December 15. The Civil Aviation Ministry had temporarily set upper and lower airfare limits in the wake of the pandemic.
