The European Union has set up a probe to assess whether Google violated antitrust rules by using specific content put online by media and other publishers to train and provide AI services without appropriate compensation or consent. "Progress cannot come at the expense of the principles at the heart of our societies," said EU competition chief Teresa Ribera.
