NASA's Athena Moon lander set to land near South Pole today

NASA's moon lander Athena, developed by Intuitive Machines, will attempt to land on the moon's south pole on March 6, near the Mons Mouton site. Launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9, Athena's mission, part of NASA's CLPS program, aims to study water ice and resources for future crewed missions. Another lander, Firefly Aerospace's Blue Ghost, recently touched down.
