What happens to a woman's property if she dies without a will?

If a Hindu woman passes away without writing a will, her assets are divided based on the rules laid down by the Hindu Succession Act, 1956, which gives the first right of succession to her sons, daughters and husband. If none of them are alive, the property is passed on equally to the living brothers and sisters of the husband.
