France is facing a massive child abuse scandal in its schools involving violence, sexual assault and rape of children as young as three. Parents had been fighting for years to register complaints of mistreatment by monitors during lunch breaks, nap times and after-school activities. The monitors are adults recruited by local authorities at state schools to look after the children.
